Note
Every known watermarked plate flaw is documented. This denomination was also forged in lemon-yellow. It occurs in all watermark positions and was a commonly used stamp. In 1931, Marcel Bíró conducted an experiment with a quarter-sheet of unused, orange 3-fillér stamps, exposing them to summer sunlight for four months. No changes were detectable in the paper or the gum, yet the color of the stamp changed to a vivid lemon-yellow. This trial proved that light-sensitive pigments can be significantly altered under prolonged exposure to light.
